Ian Holland Keeps Track of Melbourne Storm Players

Erin Devlin • Aug 07, 2014

Victorian Bushrangers fast bowler Ian Holland recently completed a Beyond the Boundary placement with Melbourne Storm in the team’s sport science department.

“Being able to apply this experience at the Storm with what I learned at University, in terms of stats, gps tracking and the monitoring of athletes, was hugely valuable”, says Holland.  “It has been great to apply all of my learning in a real world setting.”

The placement, coordinated by Infront Sports, gave Ian the opportunity to work closely with industry leading sport science specialist Anita Sirotic and her team.

“It is very impressive what the players can lift in the gym.  Their leg strength is ridiculous.  One of the first days I was here, one of the boys was squatting 230 kg’s.”
